As our first contribution to Music Education was to fund Harmonicas for Pine Island Elementary School's "blues harp class" this class was geared towards their fourth graders.

They were excited and very appreciative.  A huge "Thank You" to Rick and Danette Russell founders of the band "Stringtown" for presenting the work shop. {more on this to follow}..

August 2014:
Your S.W.F.B.S. donated 16 Guitars this school year to Veterans Park Academy and music teacher Gretchen Wahlberg for their music education program.  Origionally Gretchen thought she may have about 30 students interested in guitar lessons, more than 100 signed up.  Your Membership and support does make a difference !

Currently your SWFBS is working on a New Initiative, "Guitars for Veterans", we hope to provide a few guitars and lessons to a few local veterans, for more information about this program and how you can support it, "Click Here".

If you have ideas on how we can do more with educational activities please let us know, better yet become a member and join the Special Programs / Education committee.  This is one of the key reasons our organization was formed.  To give back to the community and educate the young and old alike.

During the 2014 Bonita Blues Festival we donated an Acoustic Electric Guitar to the Music for Minors program and $200.00 to Golisano Children's Hospital Music Therapy Program.
