Awards and Nominations
Eden is a renowned songwriter, performer and recording artist, and has received numerous awards and nominations. She is a former Mississippi Arts Commission Folk Arts Fellowship recipient, is included in the Mississippi Touring Artist Roster, and was apprentice to Abie “Boogaloo” Ames in a 1994 Folk Arts Apprenticeship. In 2011 she received the Popular Music Award from Mississippi Institute of Arts and Letters for her album Ain’t Got No Troubles. In addition, she has a dozen nominations in the Living Blues Awards, and she won the International Blues Challenge in 2006.

Recordings
Eden is a Yellow Dog Records recording artist and there are six solo albums in her catalogue: Something Cool (2003); Mississippi Number One (2008); Ain’t Got No Troubles (2010); Jigsaw Heart (2014); An Eden Brent Christmas with Bob Dowell (2018), and Getaway Blues (2024). She boogies on Kern Pratt’s 2019 release Greenville, MS and sings the duet “Southern Honey” with bluesman Johnny Rawls on his 2016 Tiger in a Cage album. In 2012 she recorded Party Dress, an album of songs written by their late mother, Carole Brent, with her sisters, Jessica and Bronwynne, both songwriters.

Dani Lightner’s musical journey began as a toddler when she couldn’t resist belting out tunes. At the tender age of twelve (12) she graced the stage with her voice. By sixteen (16) she had already performed at Nashville’s renowned Bluebird Cafe and Tootsies, captivating
audiences.
From 1996 to1998 Dani shared the stage with country music legends John Anderson, Johnny Paycheck, and Ty Herndon as an opening act. After a hiatus of nearly two decades to raise her children, Dani’s passion for music was reignited when meeting fiancée Josh Rowand. With Josh’s encouragement Dani triumphantly returned to the stage, showcasing herraw talent and captivating presence once more.

Josh Rowand “The Pitbull of Blues Band” is more than just a generic blues band. As a Florida based band, “The Pitbull of Blues Band” enjoys sharing their own breed of blues with others. Putting the bite in blues, this band delivers a show that reminds you why you fell in love blues. ~ Happenings Magazine
Josh “The Pitbull of Blues” Rowand, is widely known as the front man for the high energy Florida based Pitbull of Blues Band. After a 3rd. place finish at the 2020 Memphis IBC Finals, the Pitbull of Blues Band has been a regular on the festival circuit throughout Florida. Josh is proud to be the only US endorsed artist with Ali Kat Guitars, with his stunning guitar work he leads the crowds through a repertoire of all that is Country, Blues, Rockabilly and more.
In August of 2021, Josh and Dani found each other and while love and also musical sparks began to fly, they noticed similarities in their musical tastes and also musical inspirations and they started sharing the stage together more and more playing everything from Country and Americana Classics like “Walking After Midnight” and “Angel From Montgomery” to new blues infused songs like Ashley McBride’s “Rattlesnake Preacher” and Jelly Roll’s “Save Me” and even Rocking Country tunes like Laney Wilson’s “Hang Tight Honey”.
On the afternoon of July 2nd., what could have been a tragic event became the story of legends as their beloved dog Ava got out and went for a 3.5hr swim and romp thru the backwoods and swamp water lakes of the housing community where they live and the phrase Chasing Ava was mentioned and the band name created.
The full band also includes Deny “Pop’s” Rowand on Bass and Vocal’s and Richie Corricelli on Drum’s and vocal’s, have formed the core of The Pitbull of Blues Band, who along with Josh has been sharing the stage together for over 27 years.

This is a Southwest Florida Blues Society Event, produced in appreciation for your membership and our volunteer supporters. These special events usually showcase acts that aren’t often routing through Southwest Florida. Providing a special opportunity to see award winning National and International Acts in an intement setting. Although these performances are open to the public, we provide our current members and supporters with discounts at the door and advance notice allowing you the ability to reserve the tables you prefer, (based on availibility). This show will have a limited number of VIP tables near the stage. This show is expected to sell out, we suggest you don’t wait, make your reservations now.
